Another exciting evening doing newt surveys in Lloyds Coppice!
We found palmate newts, dragonfly larvae, caddisflies wrapped in leaves (look them up – very cool insects!), and may have spotted a great crested newt swimming off too. We saw how previous pond works carried out on one of the ponds in 2014 (de-silting and clearing surrounding tree and scrub) had had an excellent outcome for improving the ponds habitat 😎
Thanks to Nicola Stone for leading the survey and volunteers for getting involved 🤗
