I became a Trustee in November 2011 soon after being elected on to Sutton Maddock Parish Council and so am continually learning about the invaluable work that SGCT undertakes
My particular interest came from the regular walks that I undertake with my family on the paths managed by SGCT in Sutton Wood which is close to my home
Since joining I have been able to see the extent of this work that the trust carries out in other areas and look forward to being involved in its maintenance and preservation for future generations
Having had a career in the construction industry, part of which involved preparing risk assessments and putting in place control measures to minimise these I am able to understand the extent of the work being carried out by the management team to create a safe environment for the public to enjoy
This together with all other aspects of the Trusts management and work being carried out by volunteers should ensure that the trust has a healthy future
