The Severn Gorge Countryside Trust’s volunteering project continues to be a great success with over 35 volunteers attending on different days and now giving their time for conservational activities as well as a number of new opportunities and monitoring surveys within the Trust.

The volunteering project was set up in 2006 to involve local people in the care of the countryside within the Ironbridge Gorge.
The project offers opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to volunteer year-round and to get involved in all aspects of the Trust’s work.
Every Thursday between 10-3pm, a group of 10-18 volunteers meet to maintain the vast areas of woodlands, heathland and meadows. We are an ever growing group and welcome new faces. Additionally, once a month, a smaller group meet to maintain the 25kms of paths to keep them open for public access.
