The Jiggers Bank Rock face stabilisation works were completed on the 10th of August allowing the road to reopen. Those driving past will catch a glimpse of the rockfall netting and rock dowels as well as the reinforced concrete buttress which will hopefully prevent the need for further works for decades to come.
Contractor CAN Ltd still have some minor finishing off works to do and Trust contractors will sow grass seed between the rock face and the road, and install wooden bollards to prevent parking on this potentially dangerous corner.
The project has been a successful partnership between SGCT, Telford and Wrekin Council, Scott Wilson consulting engineers and CAN Ltd and we would like to thank local people for their patience whilst the work took place.
