15.05.2013 Severn Gorge Countryside Trust Open Evening

Meet the Trustees, staff and volunteers at St Micheals’ Church, Church Road, Madeley, Telford, TF7 5BN

Speakers: Andy Cooke and Chris Hogarth on ‘The role of Natural England in helping to conserve the features on the Ironbridge Gorge WHS’

A warm welcome to all on Wednesday 15th May at 6.30pm. This year it will be held at the lovely St Michael's Church, Madeley. Come and enjoy tea and cakes, meet the Trustees, staff and volunteers and listen to our speakers from Natural England.

There will be photo displays of all the exciting new ventures such as the Outdoor Learning Programme, new walking groups and of course our trusty and enthusiastic volunteers.

22.05.2013 Insects of the Ironbridge Gorge part 1

With our consultant Entemologist Pete Boardman we'll spend the day in the Loamhole and Lydebrook Dingles which are steep sided woodlands. Here we shall find a whole wealth of insects and get the opportunity to study further with microscopes in the Trust's community room. Cost: £10. 10-4pm. 29.05.2013 Lets be creative in Rough Park community family event

A family event celebrating the use of natural materials found in meadows and woodland. Divided into morning and afternoon sessions and attendees shall build a temporary large-scale installation of landscapes and horizons left for others to enjoy. Additionally, you may make artists palettes, clay faces and mini-beasts to take home. Book for morning (10-12.30) or afternoon (1.30-4pm) session. Please bring a picnic if you wish. Meeting at Newcomen Way, off Woodside Avenue. No parking available. No cost. Book your places: bookings@severngorge.org.uk

31.05.2013 1-3 day creative art course in the World Heritage Landscape

A 3 day art course which can be booked separately if you wish. Cost £20 per day: 9.30-4pm

Your tutor, Lynne Morgan, will take you through drawing (day 1: 31st May) and painting using colour (day 2: 1st June) and using mixed media and exploring other artists who painted in this heritage landscape (day 3: 2nd June). Days 1 and 2 will include morning visits to sketch outdoors.
