An evening walk to search for Glow Worms along the Silkin Way in Coalport.  These amazing insects literally glow in the dark during the summer but unfortunately their numbers are diminishing and we are lucky to have a small colony of them in Telford.  The females can be seen after dark in June and July, giving off their ghostly green light as they try to attract mates.  The Trust is monitoring its known populations closely, implementing a management regime to create a habitat mix of short and long grass, and dense scrub.

All are welcome to join the Trust staff on the evening of July 7th to look for Glow Worms.  Meet at the car park next to the Shakespeare Inn on Coalport High Street, at 10.00pm.  You will need sturdy footwear as although it’s a surfaced path you will be walking in the dark!  Also bring warm layers and waterproofs, and maybe a torch.
